I’d like to thank Brighton Bipolar for nominating me for this challenge – I’ll do my best buddy.
Day 1 – Quote One
“I am. I exist.” – René Descartes
I love root cause analysis and suffer from analysis paralysis. This quote just about sums it up for me. Sadly I used to believe the translation that went “I think, therefore I am”. This inaccurate translation of the original French text by Descartes is total and utter bollox! It should be removed from human history. PERIOD.
Thinking does not prove ones existence. Awareness of the fact that I think is proof that I exist. Because I was duped by my mind into believing “I think, therefore I am” I have spent a long, long time being seriously deluded and seriously ill as a result. The accurate translation of “I am. I exist” is unquestionably true. I am and I do exist.
I’ve spent just about my entire life believing everything my brain told me and then acting on it. Now that I’m aware that my conscious-self and my mind are in fact two completely separate things, I can witness my thoughts for what they are. I then have a free will choice as to how I proceed with that thought. Do I acknowledge it or do I ignore it.
Finally I am now in control of me. I am in control of my thoughts. I am in control of my feelings. I am in control of my actions.
If you ‘think’ you’re awake, then you’re actually still sleeping.
WAKE UP WORLD!
I understand that I now have to nominate three people to continue this challenge. After giving it some thought, I’d like to choose the following blogs and their authors because you have all taken the time to comment on my posts. Thank you.
